As the temperatures in Brisbane drop once again, why not snuggle up with a nice cup of tea and enjoy this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…
♥ If you’re looking for inspiration on how to make your reception venue uniquely yours, The Knot Australia has you covered with 20 ways to transform your reception space.
♥ It’s our (13th!) wedding anniversary next week, which makes this the usual time of year for me to be wondering about traditional anniversary gifts. Luckily Hallmark has a full list of both modern and traditional gift ideas to satisfy my curiosity.
♥ The Eco Wedding Fair is on this weekend at the Old Museum in Bowen Hills. It’s on from 10am – 4pm on Sunday 25 August, 2013. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Art & Design
♥ The Charming Bird watch by Jaquet Droz is a true work of art. It features a dome with a tiny automaton bird which spins around, flaps its wings and whistles. Only 28 were produced, so if you have to ask you really, really can’t afford one. Note: This link will take you to a video which will play automatically.

♥ Still in the sphere of watches. UK artist Dominic Wilcox has made a series of tiny sculptures which interact as they spin around on the second and minute hands of vintage watches.
♥ As I’ve mentioned before, Bristol is one of the places we’ve called home over the years. Watching the skies above the city fill with weird and wonderful hot air balloons during the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta was one of the highlights of living there.

♥ Living on a budget can be tough, but luckily the Urban List has put together a list of 50 things to do in Brisbane for under $50.
♥ If your budget isn’t so tight, you might want to check out the Almost Spring Market Day at Vieille Branche – Things of Old in Newstead on Saturday 24 August 2013. It goes from 9am – 4pm and features a whole host of local providers.
